The Story of Our Success

1966

Cansel is Founded

Cansel Survey Equipment Ltd. is founded by Stan Jackson and Albert Weiss in Burnaby, BC.

2004

Cansel acquires Currie Engineering, a Trimble (Geodimeter) dealer for Ontario.

2005

Cansel acquires Technologies 3D, Trimble (Geodimeter) dealer for Québec.

2008

Cansel acquires Global CADD Systems and initiates expansion in the Autodesk resale market in Canada.

2011

Cansel acquires Le Groupe BusCom, specialists in Autodesk software and training in Quebec, making Cansel the largest Autodesk reseller in Canada.

2015

Cansel merges with SolidCAD

July: Cansel merges its Ontario Autodesk business unit into SolidCAD Solutions and takes an equity stake in the joint organization.

2015

BuildingPoint Canada is born

December: Cansel creates BuildingPoint Canada Inc. and acquires Deco Technology Services, the Tekla reseller for Canada.

2021

Cansel expands to the United States

January: Cansel expands its business footprint into the United States with the acquisition of California Surveying & Drafting Supply, Inc.

2021

November: Cansel acquires Allen Instruments and integrates with CSDS.

2025

Cansel expands to the U.K.

Cansel Group expands internationally with the acquisition of Survey Solutions Group in Scotland, UK.

Cansel Survey Equipment Inc.

Providing survey and engineering equipment, field and safety supplies or asset lifecycle management solutions in Canada.
